Hero Wars Dominion: May 2025
April 30, 2025
April's post was unexpectedly brief. A lot of stuff was coming up out of the blue and at last minute. This month, hopefully, will be different.
There are new hero goals this time around. Some heroes' skills aren't upgraded and need some attention. After that, I will work on their skins (if able) followed by their artifacts. Before any of that can be done, I need to earn more gold and upgrade materials.

Hero Stall - random hero selection with a price. |
Granted the RNG [random number game] fight stuff is gone, but has been replaced with a random hero draw thing. Instead of getting heroes from a roster, you have to hope to land on them during the selection sequence in order to form the team of your choosing. Yeah, it's not that great and I can't get the heroes I need early enough to build them up accordingly.
Something else that was noted, is that there's no info option like in the other game modes where you can see the amount of damage dealt, taken and any healing that has taken place. Worst of all, I got stuck on Chapter 5: Show of Illusions. Despite getting the heroes and building them accordingly along with getting the pets, which become available late, something constantly goes wrong.
I was really close to defeating the final boss but for some odd reason, the last remaining hero - that managed to survive the first ink blot - stops moving. By stops moving I'm talking they stop attacking altogether and just stands there until the last remaining enemy - Folio - comes to and launches another ink blot thus defeating said hero. Challenges are fine, but when it reaches the point of frustration it's not worth attempting any more.
Lyria - Like other hero events, Lyria is at 4-stars. While the Honey Melody Player was a nice change for obtaining hero souls, the method for obtaining spins wasn't as nice.
Positives From the Event
Some of the positives include getting the last remaining item for promoting Lara Croft to Red. The Event Shop was nice as I got some much needed items that just don't drop the way you would like from the campaigns. Moreover, I can now complete 6-expeditions a day.
Next positive, I replenished my gold currency. A lot of gold was used these past few months upgrading heroes and whatnot. Really happy with that for a variety of reasons; Ascension being one of them.
In addition this, Violet and Orange Gift of Dominions. There are three promising heroes - for the Orange, but only one is at Ascension Rank 5. Still doing the math on the other items that are needed for this hero.
I guess getting to Level 41 of the Battle Pass - Free Path - is a positive. What else? Oh, more resources for upgrading current heroes. Other slight positives include an additional skin for Lyria (with Golden Ticket) and Folio (defeat Chapter 5 event boss), a chance to get Red Gift of Dominion (defeat Chapter 6 boss) and a chance at a totem fragment of your choice (defeat Chapter 7 boss).
Negatives (for me) From the Event
I specified for me because not everyone's sentiment - in regards to event negatives - is the same. Randomizing the hero selection process on top of charging Stall Coins (red pointy gem thing) for each refresh. This bit gets increasingly frustrating when you're trying to form a specific team, but the heroes you really need don't surface.
Worse yet, when they do surface you can't get them due to not having enough Stall Coins. Granted there are tips warning against this approach, but following those tips can be easier said than done when you aren't getting what you need. This became even more problematic when the pets surfaced.
In Closing (for the Event)
The new format for this new hero event was, for the most part, nice. We got a new hero, some of the good rewards were within reach, randomness was more or less removed, and they did away with over-buffing. Meaning, you weren't at a disadvantage for having x-amount of buffs more than the required minimum.
That said, I didn't go crazy with upgrading the new hero. I did less than the minimum to obtain Tracks (for the Honey Melody Player) and Glory Points (for Battle Pass Progress).
Elmir Brawls and AoC May 2025 Edition
A nice Elmir Brawl event surfaced and I got some gear for the heroes I'm working on. Got Elmir to Orange for the event and upgraded Yasmine to Orange +4. This is the first Brawl in a while where I was actively participating in the fights.
It's also the first where I was able to assemble a decent defense and attack team. The main pain points that remain is the inability to refresh opponents. That said, I was able to complete all stages the daily quests; would be nice if the lives weren't limited for the brawl.
AoC May Edition
Only played on my main FB account. Like before, not many were interested in participating. Despite constant discussions about match-making and such, many aren't experiencing the same issues that the chatter is circling about.
Castle leveling is still done en masse. I would much prefer to level the castle one level at a time. For me, it helps to see what's required for each level. Of course, leveling doesn't help with ranking so still not sure what the fuss is about.
If they turn it into a solo event, that would fix a great deal of the issues that some players are currently facing. If they can't/won't do this, then give castle leveling a purpose - as suggested prior - that will actually encourage contributions to its upgrading.
End of Month Recap
Not going to lie, this month has been brutal online and off. After AoC a lot of the events got messed up on my end. Completely forgot about the Titan Tournament of Power and spent a good bit of titan resources during the Hyperion Brawl Event.
Not that it matters especially with some ranking footage highlighting players getting points in the thousands. Titan ToP is drastically different than Hero ToP which I'm actually preferring (not that I get a lot of resources for heroes but it's still better in comparison). Nothing else to share for the month so hopefully June is better.
