January 2022 Gaming Report

Mobile Games

I've sampled some more mobile games and have progressed further on Pop! Slots. Wordelicious, Word Voyage and Word Pearls were all explored during point earning missions. Wordelicious was a refreshing one as it gave you real recipes for the dishes you unlocked during gameplay.

Word Voyage was a new experience as it was a word search game; especially when compared to the form words from a letter pool. Pusher Mania and BlackJack by Murka were some non-word games that were sampled this month. When I wasn't playing these, I was playing Pop! Slots.

Another album challenge was released called Pop Stories: Back in Time. The album is bigger and the rewards for completing pages are a nice sum of chips. In addition to the chips, we're earning new wardrobe items for our avatars.

Facebook Games

Some past games have been revisited and the experience is a mixed bag. Three of my favorites from Gamegos (Cafeland, Fashland and Marketland) have been discontinued for the browser platform while attention has shifted to mobile gaming. Fashion Cup and Cafeland World Kitchen have replaced Fashland and Cafeland on the mobile platform. Marketland, on the other hand, has been discontinued entirely.

There was also a revisit to Mall World who, like some others, switched their game over to a non-Flash format. Not only was it switched, but the interface was given a makeover so that it could be both browser and touch screen friendly. Hard to believe I had this game active for nine years and still am seeing new things being added on a weekly basis.

Blossom Blast Saga was next but all of progress was reset. Tried Bubble Witch 3 and everything was intact. Not only that, but I finally upgraded two more structures around my home; just need to earn more dust.

Hero Wars

A lot has taken place since late December. Winterfest 2021 ended on a positive note as we got a new hero and some much needed items from the event. After this came the Great Storm and Titan Artifact events. Then we got the Lilith Brawl event.

Despite the possibility of earning lots of Brawl Coins from the matches alone, the results for each match weren't consistent. Even if you tested the team prior to the fight, there was no guarantee that win you got during testing was going to happen again during the match; pet patronages were another variable. We also had a limited number of fight attempts that were lost if we were to lose a match; the attempts stay intact for wins.

Usually you can fall back on the event tasks to earn event currency for the special shop. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough resources left to use to make the most of the tasks. While the event was optional, it would've been nice if it were done differently.

Wrapping Up

I'm still playing around with some mobile games trying to find one I can play long term (a big maybe on that one). Browser gaming hasn't changed much and don't see anything new getting added any time soon.
