February to March 2022

Back in January, I mentioned some mobile games that were sampled during the month. The word-based games were self-explanatory as they were similar to one another. Not just in gameplay, but the practice of loading the play ad button before the next stage text.

Blackjack by Murka and Pusher Mania were the only non-word games played. That said, I didn't realize till much later that I didn't discuss them at all in the post. For this post, I will recap those games along with the two that were sampled in February.

In addition to the reviews, there will be progress reports for the games I still currently play.

Game Reviews

Pusher Mania

Pusher Mania is a coin pusher mobile game app by Shape Keeper Ltd. The closest real life example that I've encountered of a coin pusher game was at Chuck E Cheese. The goal was to knock as many coins into the collector for a chance to win loads of tickets (these were physical tickets at the time).

Though a mobile app, Pusher Mania functions in a similar fashion. Your goal is to get as many coins into the collector as possible. The main rewards were nickles and cash coins.

Nickles could be redeemed for interesting prizes, while cash coins could be redeemed for actual cash. Before you get excited, those rewards aren't guaranteed. You can collect different types of fruits as well for a chance at a bonus; again, not guaranteed.

With all that said, the game is quite entertaining. Not only that, but you are given lots of coins to play with and the max number increases with each level up of the coin booster. As an added bonus, the regeneration time for coins is short.

This is very much a F2P (free-to-play) game which means you'll be watching ads with a purpose. What do I mean by this? In order to upgrade boosters and get extra coins quickly, you will be watching ads to get them.

Watching ads to extend gameplay and to upgrade boosters is a major bonus. Even if you don't win anything, the game is still a nice time waster.

Blackjack by Murka

This is a mobile app focusing on the game of Blackjack. Your goal for each round is to hit Blackjack or 21 in order to win. You're given chips to bet with, and you earn more through daily logins and checking in periodically for bonus chips.

As you level up, you will gain access to new locations. Still don't understand how the XP (experience points) gain works but managed to reach Level 15 on Day 1. The game is straight forward, however you will have to pay close attention to your hand.

Getting Blackjack only takes two cards. Getting 21 can take three or more cards. Needing multiple cards doesn't mean you have wiggle room.

You have to know when to stop receiving cards as going over 21 will result in an instant loss. From what I've experienced, the Ace functions as a wild card of sorts. One moment its value is one, and the next it's ten.

It's a simple game app that has its moments of frustration.

Coin Dozer

Like Pusher Mania, Coin Dozer is a coin pusher game. One of the top differences you'll notice is that there are levels. XP earned is tied to the coins and prizes collected.

In addition to collecting coins, you're collecting a variety of items that are needed to unlock special rewards. Your objective is to collect as many of these items as possible to complete a series of collections that reward bonuses. As simple as this sounds, it's easier said than done.

Despite having boosters at your disposal, they have their limits. The Wall booster is an instant favorite as it ensures all coins and items go where you want them to. A major gripe that was experienced repeatedly involved the wall showing up right before an ad begins to play.

When the ad is done the wall goes away which means you've missed your chance at getting guaranteed items. To complicate matters further, your coins don't go far. Sure there's a watch video option but like the coins, it's limited.

How limited? If you aren't on a coin collecting streak, which rewards coins, then you'll be waiting 29-seconds per coin till it reaches the max number. As awesome as that number sounds, that's only if you stay online in the game. If you sign out of the game, then it will take 9-minutes per coin till the max number is reached.

Since some won't be up for waiting, there are two alternative options. One involves purchasing coin bundles and the other is completing offers on the offer wall. If you encounter this game as part of an offer wall offer, purchasing one of the bundles will help a great deal.

If purchasing isn't an option, it is still possible to complete the offer objective; however, it will take longer and you will need a lot of patience.

MGM Live

MGM Live is similar, yet different from Pop! Slots. The location select screen scrolls up and down rather than side to side. I also received six new outfits prior to Level 10.

You're granted introductory gifts in the beginning so that you can get a head start on the gameplay. Moreover, it doesn't take long to level up in the early stages. Despite this, the same rule applies: manage your resources carefully.

Spending lots of chips per round will grant higher rewards and speed up the leveling process. While this is good, you will have to pay attention to the chips balance to make sure you don't run out of chips too soon. It's amazing how fast chips leave your coffers when you're distracted by the spinning wheels.

Progress Reports

Pop! Slots

My progress has grown a lot since January. I've made it to Level 213 and the Pop!Stories event has ended. Didn't make a lot of progress during the event; however, I managed to earn a couple of new outfits. I had my eyes set on the knight and Cleopatra outfits, but didn't collect enough of the needed stickers to complete the pages.

In addition to the level upgrade, a couple of new locations were unlocked along with several games. Casino Heist High Seas Mystery was a long awaited game that I've only sampled in the early days thanks to a Pop Quest event. Currently I'm on a login streak of 122-days and am hoping it keeps going.

Hero Wars

March 11-13 Osh Battle
March 11-13 Osh Battle
Not much has changed since last check-in. Heroes, titans and pets are still being worked on. Progress on these fronts is still slow.

We had another Brawl Event featuring Judge and the same issues that were discussed in the January post still applied. Despite nothing major occurring in my gameplay, an interesting observation was made. As you know there is a weekly boss battle featuring the character Osh in the City of Asgard.

For the last four weeks, I started February 19, I've been documenting the attacks of my five teams on my main FB account. This wasn't a priority until I started to notice that my main team (the one that's built up) wasn't doing as much damage. Strangely enough, one of my non-built up teams is doing more damage.

To clarify, I have three teams that are built up which are used for Grand Arena. Of the three, my main (the row with Galahad) scored third with the March 11-13 battles being memorable. There's usually a 100K to 1-Million damage difference between the top three teams.

This time around my main scored over 3-Million damage, team two scored over 4-Million and team three (the one that's not built up) scored over 5-Million. To think, I almost had things figured out. In addition to this, Pet Adventures has become more of a pain.

Every time I go into an adventure I've completed before, it feels like the difficulty has increased. Most notably is Adventure 10. I've made it through many battles without having to repeat in the past, but recently that has changed and it's bugging me.

Hero Wars 6th Anniversary Cake

A boost of sorts came in the form of the annual Hero Wars Birthday event. HW celebrated its 6th year and brought back the infamous Archdemon battle. This time around, there were daily buffs (similar to Pet Adventures) along with daily mini games that could be found within campaign chapters. The Strongford Quiz also made a return, and since the start time change I had to stay up a bit to access the quiz.

Fortunately, I got on early enough to answer a single question which earned me 20-points and put me in first place. I didn't participate further in the quiz till the final day. Last but not least is the Riotous Growth event.

It's an event for earning Earth Titan soul stones along with other useful items; if you don't have everyone maxed that is. Currently working towards earning some Eden soul stones as they're the only titan not at absolute star; got them very late in the game.

Some Happy News

Didn't think it was ever going to happen this year, yet it did. I got two heroes to Ascension Level 2 on March 24. So close and so far. The crystals are slowly coming but progress is being made nonetheless.

Mall World

Went back to playing regularly. Signed up for daily email rewards. Leveled up a few times, expanded wardrobe.

A super simplified explanation, but it sums up what I've been doing in game. My level is still in the 90 range where other long-time players are 200 and up. So far, I've managed to unlock some more items and managed to complete the last three Wheel of Fashion limit of time outfits.

I'm buying more stuff for my character and am unlocking new outfits. Despite the changes to the game, Fashion Show is still a joy to participate in. Namely for the fact that voters aren't drawn solely to fancy outfits like a past game I use to play.

It's also fun seeing the outfits that the other participants put together. Since I've expanded my clothing selection, I've been thinking about a past experiment I did revolving around a fashion show. Unlike last time, I will be limited to a single game as the others have been discontinued.

I'm still pondering on the idea as it was a nice breather at the time. Though this time it will likely involve stills without an accompanying video. Just a thought.
