Hero Wars Dominion: August 2025

Overview and Gripes

August was an interesting month in the game. That said, things could've been better in some places. As usual, we had two Tournament of Power events each dedicated to either Heroes or Titans.

For these, I managed to place within the emerald rewards area - forgot to write this down so going on memory. Though a positive, there were some pain points at the start of the month. This included Battle Processing errors in Tournament of the Elements.

It only occurred with certain titan lineups which was a pain because it messed up my main team. Learned later on that the issues were tied to the new totem fusion thing. After this came Blackbeard's Legacy event. This event in itself should not be co-op driven.

While some of the prizes weren't great, many participants couldn't get the full benefit because there weren't many participating players to help increase the progress path towards the next rewards. Even with the rocky start, there was actually an event I was looking forward to.

[Apologies in advance for the lack of pictures.]

Lyria Event and Brawls

While I'm not much of a Brawls fan, I did like that we were given an opportunity of earn Lyria soul stones. She is August Hero of the Month, but unless you're checking in daily you're going to miss out on those hero soul stones. I keep forgetting to check the calendar when I enter the game, so I missed some days because of that.

Any way, I was relieved to get some soul stones along with some other resources that I'm lacking. The matches were hit and miss. Unfortunately, I got paired against a lot of overly competitive opponents.

To explain, there is this thing some players use to do where they will set up a weak defense to give fellow players a chance to get decent rewards. As of late, this is hit and miss as well.

Area of Conquest: August 2025 Edition

This was a mixed bag for sure. Last AoC on my main account, was surprisingly active. That said, nobody was in the mood to fight anybody so everyone just sat at settlements

This time around, nobody showed up to the event on my main account. On my third account [S2 on Web], it was active. Not just opponents but other guildmates. They're seasonal players but they were there.

Having active participants in this event does make a difference in regards to player experience. With everyone's input, we got to the final chest by the end of the event with some coins to spare.

Titan Events

We had Tournament of Titan Power, Power of Titans, Foundations of Power, along with Solaris' Event and Brawls. This ToTP was the first where I managed to increase my titans' power by 90K+ points. Fortunately, there were other titan events where some overlapping occurred.

That said, I was a little disappointed with the Solaris Event and Brawl as her soul stones weren't directly available in the Brawl Shop. As disappointing as that was, I did get some much needed resources as I'm still behind with upgrading everybody.

Seer's Game

I came in very late to this event. In fact, I completely forgot about it and checked in on the last day of the event [crazy work schedule at the moment]. What can be said about the Seer's Game? The good thing about the event is getting lots of resources you wouldn't have been able to obtain in reasonable time in nice sums.

Yep. Mmhm. Yeah, it wasn't what many were expecting especially since it was technically suppose to focus on Chabba some kind of way. While he got his Ascension Skills, we got something different.

The Seer's Game was essentially a card game where you had to choose a card carefully in order to obtain the featured rewards. The green level was the easiest but after a while the difficulty increased in the worst way imaginable. There were no consequences early on for card selection.

However, after reaching a certain point you had to be extra careful [I think blue is the last safe level before the nightmare kicks in]. Selecting the wrong card resulted in the loss of all rewards gained up to that point. You do have a chance to salvage your hard work, but to do so you had to spend the event currency which was also needed for starting new game rounds.

From what I can remember, it cost 25 purple orbs to begin a game. You're good to go until you reach your first Bad Luck card. At that point, you either end the game there and lose your loot or pay 25 purple orbs to save your loot and continue playing.

After this, the amount to save your stuff increased - I think - in increments of 25. My experience: I won 2 games and cashed out on the last one so I didn't lose what I had gathered up to that point - didn't have enough currency. The major downside was the inability to gather event currency outside of tasks that required spending actual money.

The Great Storm

Not sure what happened between the last GS and now, but I made progress in the event. By progress, I'm talking about clearing locations and fighting the final boss. It would be nice if the fights were consistent and not changing every so often.

The Mystery of Dominion Event

Lara Croft's new skins that require special currency but the counter for this currency is absent from the game.

I kind of sort of went all in on this event, but didn't go crazy. Lara Croft made a return to Dominion which means players got a chance at obtaining some of her soul stones. More or less. I say more or less because you're only guaranteed to get 30 of her soul stones from the Path of Glory reward path.

Especially if you got her to 4-stars during her last event. The only other means for getting soul stones was thru the Forgotten Treasury. Outside of the craziness with her soul stones, she got two more skins. Unfortunately, they can only be upgraded with the new and temporary Precious Coin currency.

If that wasn't bad enough, there's no counter on the screen showing you how much you have. The main positive about the skins is that they can be bought in the event shop using the Ancient Coin currency. Suffice it to say, that was the only event currency that I had a lot of.

Temple Guardians Boss Level 280, 115-buff attempt
280 Boss opening screen with 115-buffs.
Like before, there is a workshop for upgrading artifacts to increase reward yields and for getting boss buffs. My focus this time around was the Temple Guardians side quest. I checked in daily, claimed the bonus energy, claimed the gifts on the landing page [the game's main Facebook page] and only upgraded the Tome of Revelation to 3-Stars.

I was 72-energy short for obtaining the remaining resources needed for getting the recommended buff for the 280 boss. Even if I didn't spend the Chrometal on the Tome, I was still going to be short on the Pyrite (red) and Aetheria (yellow) materials. I still played around with some team combos but didn't come close to doing anything. The best of the team combos resulted in a fight lasting 21-seconds.

It's the first in a good while that I've been invested in figuring out team combos. The downside here is the limited roster of heroes and the fact that Cain was missing from the pets screen. This also meant that he wasn't available for Nebula, Aurora nor Yasmine's patronage.

The team that started making some progress: Corvus (Biscuit/Oliver), Astaroth (Axel), Sebastian (Fenris), Lara Croft (Mara), Iris (Albus) with Mara as team pet. Start time 5:00, end time 4:39. Before Corvus was subbed in, Nebula was in the lineup and the fight lasted for 20-seconds [end time 4:40].

The most painful thing about the fight is that nobody on my side of the field wants to move until they get hit. While the fight rounds were interesting to watch, it became increasingly painful when no one would move to attack; especially when the enemy team is stunned. I know there are cool down timers but why are they so long.

UPDATE: It's August 31 and I was reviewing some things and fortunately I caught a miscalculation. 280 was very well within reach. The catch: I had to spend some emeralds that were earned. The initial calculation of 72-energy was the result of over-mathing and sleep deprivation.

After going back and counting the number of materials I was short on, I saw that I could get the remaining buff materials because all I needed was 36-energy (whew!). So I spent some emeralds in Outland to complete the 10-chests quest [5-free, 3 - 90 and 2 - 200]. After this 4800 was spent on Artifact Chests and 190 was spent to level up a glyph by one. In total, I spent 18,000-emeralds.

I did test out the other team I was using and the fight ended at the same 4:40 mark. With the recommended team, the fight ended at the 4:21 mark. Happy that I got the Red Gift of Dominion.

In addition to this, I got the new War Flag from the event map. I only had 3-wood pieces in storage so had to travel across the map to collect more. The other positive, I had moves saved up and earned some from the current season along with Seer's Game.

Elemental Synergy + Lucky Road

The Super Prizes I earned from Lucky Road.
While I still have a dislike for this event within an event, I actually fared better this time around. There was overlap with this event so I managed to earn 26-Lucky Coins. After spending them, I got 3-Super Prizes (SP).

The emerald prize was welcomed as it's helping me rebuild my emerald stash. I got my first SP after spending 16-Lucky Coins. Got my second after spending 21 and my third from spending 26.

August Event Positives

I absolute starred Lyria, I got some valuable resources for getting my heroes caught up and managed to earn 21-Lara Croft dolls from the Forgotten Treasury. Right now I'm gearing up for September events.
