A Hero Wars Quickie

It's March, and since I haven't played any new games of late I will focus on one for the month. The game for the month is Hero Wars; because, why not. Same posting schedule of once a week with each focusing on a specific topic or topics.

For this post, focus will be on key notes for planning ahead with light hints on team building. I like to keep things simple so if the following is too simple, apologies in advance.

Early Stages

First off, don't put off stat building till you collect desirable heroes. That is a mistake in itself as it will hold you back progress-wise. As soon as you get a hero, build their stats as having a solid main team is more important than having the best of the best.

A little rule that I've employed since my infancy days of online gaming, is to assemble a team consisting of at least a tank, healer and AoE (multiple target ATK). The more your main team is built up, the better you'll be in the long run. Especially if you still have it in mind for going after those desirable heroes later on.

Stat Building Quickie

When it comes to heroes pay close attention to their skills. Try to max their skill level for the current hero level. Meaning if a hero is Level 20, max their skill to 20.

Their standard and green level skills can be maxed to the hero level while the blue and purple level skills have a 20 and 40 point difference respectively. Moreover, tend to your hero's GoE, Artifacts, Glyphs, Skins and Star Level.

Currencies

Your first three currencies in game are gold, emeralds and energy (yes this counts). From here onward, you'll be introduced to other currencies of the likes of skin stones, Outland Coins, keys, Tower Coins, Arena Coins and Grand Arena Coins. As tempting as it is to do a lot at once pace yourself; because if you don't, you will run out of resources faster than you can get them.

It also helps to check-in and claim daily rewards; regardless if you have a need for the rewards or not as you will have a need for them down the line. The same goes for the Hero of the Month. Even if you don't like the hero, claim the soul stones so you can claim the other rewards as the gift claim doesn't skip over the gift days.

Daily gift claims also present the chance for earning emeralds, gold, a soul stone chest and titan summoning spheres. So try to stay on top of the dailies.

Events

There are minor and major events present in game. The minor events surface every three days while the major is a bit of a mystery at times. Again, even if you don't have a use for the items at this point in time, participate to earn them as they will come in handy later; much like those titan soul stones that were mentioned in a past post.

The major events are what most players look forward to as the time frame is longer than three days and the rewards are very much sought after. This is where saving up energy and emeralds pay off as majority of the major events have tasks that require the spending of emeralds and energy.

Joining/Creating A Guild

Joining one is free while creating one costs 300 emeralds. If you're looking to join an established guild, join one with a level requirement that matches your own. Also follow the rules of said guild so as to minimize the risks of getting kicked.

If you create your own guild, state the rules before hand so everyone will see what is required. Also let your guildies know if the guild is going to be casual (moderate expectations) or competitive (bring your A-game).

VIP

There are 15 VIP Levels. All VIP Levels are permanent. If you can swing it, invest in VIP 1.

Investing in VIP 1 grants instant raid for campaigns after each is completed manually. Plus you can claim the VIP bonus from major events and the occasional VIP gift found on their social media pages.

Make The Most Of What You Have

You're not going to get all the heroes that you want at the get go, so make the most of the ones that you do have. Don't have that ideal tank or healer yet, but do have some at your disposal? Build 'em and use 'em.

Try to concentrate on building stats one skill at a time. Also, gear does not carry over so choose the hero you want to promote, at the moment, wisely. As the title suggests, make the most of what's at your disposal.
